JPMorgan Survey Sees Massive Jump In Mid-Size Business Optimism

Since 2010 JPMorgan conducts a yearly survey of thousands of corporate clients around the US to find out how optimistic they are. The most recent survey released today shows 80% middle-market American businesses are optimistic. This is 39% higher than last year and a record for the seven year old survey. Most of the change in optimism is due to Trump’s prospective policies which executives expect to positively impact their businesses.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch released its Fund Manager Survey today which had some interesting responses. The month to month positioning changes saw investors rotate out of industrials, utilities and discretionary and into emerging markets, the Eurozone and materials, see below:
